Beginning of Year

September 15, 2017

We have completed a month of school already! The children are doing well adjusting to our routine.  Things have gone smoothly for our first month.  If you ever need to contact me, my class number is 759-2808.  The best time to reach me is after 1:00.

Please make sure you read your child's book each night and sign the yellow sheet.  Also, the homework that I send goes along with what we are working on at school.  It will reinforce the skills that we are learning.  Show and tell for the letter of the week will always be on Friday unless I tell you otherwise.  I will put the day for show and tell on the homework sheet.  The children love sharing what they bring and it reinforces the letter we are working on for the week.

Thanks so much for helping make this a smooth start to the beginning of school!

Our preschool class had a great time on our field trip to see Santa!  After we went to see Santa, we went to the Parent Center and sang some Christmas songs for our guests.  Enjoy the pictures from our trip!

February 2018

During February we did a unit on Louisiana.  Preschoolers learned that we live in the state of Louisiana and things that come from Louisiana such as peaches, crawfish, and strawberries.  To end the unit, we celebrated Mardi Gras with a parade on Fat Tuesday.  We were honored to have Queen Diane Boswell from the Krewe of Artemis join us in the parade.  She walked with the preschoolers and then answered questions for the preschoolers and kindergartners.  We then enjoyed King Cake for snack!  Please enjoy a few pictures of our parade.

Please continue to use the sheets that I prepared for you to practice the alphabet, numbers, and shapes with your child each day.  The more of these things your child knows by the end of this year, the better he/she will do in kindergarten.  Your child needs to recognize at least 26 letters of the alphabet (upper and/or lowercase).
