Principal's Message

LEAP Testing is over and we are in the homestretch to the end of the year. Students need to maintain their focus on their grades in the classroom to the end. Our fifth grade students are looking forward to the changes that will occur for them by moving to the middle school next year.

All schools in Louisiana will be changing over to the Common Core Curriculum for the 2012-2013 school year. This will be a challenging change for teachers, students and parents. It will be much more intense and in depth in each grade. However, we know that our students and teachers will do their best and be successful. Parents must assist their child at home with this new curriculum for them to have success.

The next few weeks are very busy with field trips to ArtBreak, Library Day, Dare Day, CME Field Day, Pre-K graduation, Honor Recognition Program, PBIS Fun Day, kindergarten registration, and preparation for LEAP remediation this summer.

Have a safe and happy summer.

Kindergarten Awarded Target Travel Grant

The Kindergarten classes have received a Target Field Trip Grant for $700.00.  The classes will be using this money to attend Sesame Street Live: Elmo Makes Music on  March 14.  This provides our students with an opportunity to see a live stage production and learn about music and the arts.  It is a great opportunity for our students.
